If you want a simple way to add a little runway to your wardrobe this fall, start searching for blues. From soft to bright to electrifying, they’ll make a bold statement. Elle Magazine featured this color in the slideshow “Fall’s Top Influential Trends“, which you can check out for inspiration. Don’t miss Chanel’s bright metallic blue outfit!
In my opinion, blue is the most fantastic color in existence, so I’m taking advantage of this trend for all it’s worth. Starting with…
I saw a woman wearing bright blue Nike tennis shoes a few weeks ago and immediately knew I needed blue tennis shoes, too. Enter a “buy one get one 1/2 off” sale plus a $10 coupon, and my hubby and I walked away with three new pairs of shoes thanks to my OT $ from working 4th of July. For the rest of the day, he got to listen to me sing my rendition of Kellie Pickler’s “Red High Heels” replaced with “new blue shoes”.
Note: Although these are “running” shoes, I will

The first place to look for blues, of course, is your own closet. You might own more than you think, so take a full inventory. I found a Converse dress, patterned blouse, viscose scarf, skinny belt, and flowered flats that will transition well into fall. Next, check out the thrift stores. If the blue trend hasn’t made the rounds yet, you could snag all sorts of wonderful clothes. Some thrift stores organize clothes by color, which I think should become more widespread. Doesn’t everyone shop for a car by color? 😉
Fall seems like the best time of year to add new clothes to a wardrobe. Maybe it’s because my Mom always took me shopping for new clothes for the school year, or maybe it’s because the start of a new school year always made me feel like I could present a new and better me. Let’s start with shoes – here’s to a blue you!
